"Augy" is going to be a pack goat (at least in theory since he has yet to even start training on leash). Augy is a Saanen/Alpine mix and should end up being a pretty big boy. He is very sweet and LOVES his treats.
He's a good looking boy! It will be interesting to see his progress toward being a pack goat. I've seen them in parades pulling little wagons. Very cute!
Sandy, what a beautiful place you and your family and menagerie have settled in. I have been catching up with your wonderful blog and am so sorry to hear of the loss of your dear sweet Boone. "Augy" is one handsome goat, will be interested in hearing how the "pack" training goes. Blessings from snowy Maine.
Thanks for all the sweet comments and thoughts! I've missed my blogger friends.
Augy will be a year old in April. We need to be training him now to walk on a leash and with an empty pack but he won't carry any weight until next year. Once the weather warms up and the days get prettier we will start taking him on walks.
Thank you for the thoughts on Boone. I still miss my sweet boy and know he would have loved it up here in the mountains!

ReplyDeleteInteresting! How old is he, or how old does he have to be to begin training?
