Ok, last unknown chicken pictures...
My two lovely black ladies. Black with green sheen, large but not huge (as in my Buff Orp's), friendly....
Any guesses???
Are they Black Australorps?

Hmmmm....this is a toughie. I want to say Black Australorp ( spelling? ) maybe, but I`m not sure.
ReplyDeleteI don't see any gold flecks in their feathers...so probably not Black Sex Link like my girls. They're awfully pretty, your girls!
ReplyDeletePretty birds you've got there. I'd guess Black Sex Link, but I don't know for sure. Some of my Black Sex Link chicks don't have the gold flecks in them.
ReplyDeleteWe don't have any like those but they sure are pretty!
ReplyDeleteHave a great weekend.
Pam
Love your chicken photos. Do you currently have 14 dogs? If so I'm looking forward to "meeting" each one as I am a new follower to your blog.
ReplyDeleteDon't know my chickens! Love the hosue in your header - is that yours? So quaint and eclectic!
ReplyDeleteBA's for sure...maybe, I think. We had some and they look very much like the ones we had. Great layers of brown eggs.
ReplyDeleteYep ~ Black Australorp.
ReplyDeleteWe have one Black A. The green tinge is the tip off. ;) Ours is named Whitney. Beautiful bird ~ the black with green, along with the red comb is striking.
Thanks for sharing!
Seems like you got these figured out. Where are they going to go?
ReplyDeleteLook like Australorps (sp?) to me...good guess!
ReplyDeleteThey look just like my Black Australorps. Except older. They are very pretty. My Australorps are not as friendly as the other chickens I have though. I think I will need to hold them more.
ReplyDeleteIf they are Black Australorps they sure are mighty fine looking, love the green sheen to the black feathers.
ReplyDeleteso glad you asked. We have three hens that look exactly like these-and I always wanted to find out what they were. The green tinge is definitely there just like it is on yours.
